Compare the Reference with the QC Set

QC photos are taken after an item reaches a warehouse or inspection point. Start with a complete view so you can compare the overall shape, cable pattern, neckline, sleeves, cuffs and hem with the reference image.

Use the photographs as supporting evidence rather than proof of identity or authenticity. Written specifications can answer questions a photograph cannot, while the current external page controls the available service and any request for another image.

A balanced QC set should show the complete item and the details most likely to affect your decision.

Allow for Camera Differences

Warehouse lighting, exposure and screen settings can make white fabric appear warmer or cooler. Compare several images before treating a colour shift as a product issue.

Angle and folds also affect apparent proportions. Use visible measurement scales and written dimensions where available.

Separate Parcel Data from Garment Measurements

Some overlays show package dimensions or recorded weight rather than the jumper’s chest width, body length or sleeve length.

Do not treat a parcel-size overlay as a garment size chart. Request the specific measurement points you need if they are not shown.

Missing evidence

When to Request Another Photo

Ask for another image when a decision depends on information the supplied set does not show clearly. Keep the request specific so the new photograph answers one useful question.

  • Request a tape measurement across named points, not a general “size photo”.
  • Ask for a closer view of a mark, seam, label or fastening that is unclear.
  • Request a complete reverse view if only the front is visible.
  • Confirm the current service and any charge for additional photographs externally.

Keep the limits clear

What QC Photos Cannot Prove

A useful image set narrows uncertainty; it does not remove it.

  1. Authenticity

    Photographs alone cannot establish a product’s identity or origin.

  2. Feel and durability

    Texture, comfort and long-term wear cannot be judged reliably on screen.

  3. Final fit

    Measurements help, but body shape and preferred ease still matter.

  4. Delivery outcome

    Photos do not confirm route eligibility, packaging or delivery times.

Practical rule: record what each image actually shows, identify what remains unknown and verify current details on the external destination.
